Here are some squigglies turned into vines. Still working on the math though so these were done by hand sad to say. These 3d vines were made in studio max using the compound loft tool. Basically, draw a curved line with a dozen points. Draw two circles one smaller than the other. CIrcles represent the beginning and ending to your vine. Select the line to use as a path, choose the compound loft tool, choose path steps in the options window. Select your largest circle for the bottom of the vine, change the options frame to frame 11 (end of vine) with Get Shape selected choose the smaller circle.
