PoserSpeak Update...I had some good face time with PoserSpeak this week. I've had to make some room in the program window for some advanced sound capabilities so the program layout has changed a bit. The python menu installer is now combined with the installation window. Installation is still the same but you can do it all from one page in PoserSpeak. Another big change is the 64bit issue. 64bit machines were failing when Poser tries to evoke a simple system call to run a program. It looks like this is a bug in Poser b/c the python calls run fine outside of Poser. To fix this problem i had to add an Apply button to the Python Window. So you launch PoserSpeak, record your voice, then when PoserSpeak closes, you have to hit the apply button. One benefit to this is you can move the PoserSpeak window around and switch back and forth from Poser to PoserSpeak. Disadvantage is folks will forget to hit the apply button and think it isn't working. I have added a reminder prompt which you can disable to PoserSpeak. One unique new feature worthy of mentioning is the sound track mixing capabilities. Thanks to spydog for asking for this feature as it is now part of the program. Basically, you can blend tracks in PoserSpeak giving you the ability to have more than one character speak in Poser. Since Poser only let's you assign one wav file to the stage track, PoserSpeak now let's you blend your new wav file with a previously recorded wav file. PoserSpeak can blend 16bit tracks in one of two ways. Firstly, you can mix two 16bit tracks together into a third 16bit mono track. This lowers the volume of both tracks a bit (since they are combined), but the end result is a 16bitmono track which you can keep adding voices too in PoserSpeak. The second method for blending is to create a 16bit stereo track from two 16bit mono tracks. This provides the clearest sound but is limited to only two voices (one voice for left channel, one for right). Voice tracks for SAPI5 voices are mostly 16bit mono wav files. A few voices out there are 8bit and i haven't added blending to the 8bit parts yet but i am working on it today (yippee). I will need to update the PoserSpeak manual once all of these changes are finalized. Since things may move, i have to do the manual last. And finally, what's next (you still reading ? PoserWav. These sound settings above will also serve as a test bed for wav file capabilities present in PoserWav. That's all for now, i got work to do. Thanks again to everybody for asking questions and making suggestions. Hey Indoda, thanks for the kick in the butt last week. It really helped. |

RE:PoserSpeak 1.49 is ready for your download...The Sound mixing capabilities are now complete in version 1.49. You can download the latest version by using the Check Updates button in PoserSpeak. Be sure and visit the Installation tab and click "Save Preferences" after you download and install the new version. |

RE:RE:PoserSpeak Update...veeery funny Indoda BTW does 1.51 work for you ok? I've had no complaints yet but wanted to make sure before i expand on it further. Right now the sound tools in PoserSpeak only work in 16bit mono (that's what speech outputs) but i want it to work with any sound format so you can add a custom track like a recorded WAV etc. thanks for sticking with me. |

RE:RE:RE:PoserSpeak Update...hi, just bought 1.51 and installed for pos 6. I noticed that the wav directory was not created in the C:Program Files3dtruePoserSpeak directory so the program was giving me problems. I created it manually and that seemed to help. I was running the overview quick tutorial and the sound file was not being created because the directory was not there. Now its created so that part works. Now..I am using James model for my quick first test but no facial morphing happens. Do i have to do something special to get james to work? and can you provide a list of what directories other than the wav directory should have been created so i can check if my install worked? thanks |
