THREAD:114 ID:114PoserSpeak 1.38 and Cepstral voices...I have been having quite a bit of fun experimenting with PoserSpeak and trying out different things. I had downloaded a few Cepstral voices to try and they don't seem to be working properly. The free voices and AT&T's Mike animates without any problems, but the Cepstral voices don't.

What's happening is the character starts to speak, but after the first couple of frames stops and seems to be in a 'daze'. The head continues to move as well as the eyes, but no lip animation.

I am going to reinstall my computer system tomorrow and will load up PoserSpeak 1.2 and see if it does the same thing.

THREAD:114 ID:116RE:PoserSpeak 1.38 and Cepstral voices...Cepstral voices will work as any other in PoserSpeak. I wonder if maybe you have had trouble with Poser itself? Some folks who buy PoserSpeak are new to the animation side of Poser. If this is the case, please try this FAQ. It is a step-by-step guide to animating with PoserSpeak. Animating Poser

Also, remember that Poser cannot preview some characters(like Vicki) at full speed on your computer. So try and animate an AVI movie to see the final end results.

If you still have trouble, please fill out a support form so i can contact you personally.

THREAD:114 ID:117PoserSpeak/Cepstral test and videos...Ok, here's what I've done and what happened:

I reinstalled Poser 6 and installed PoserSpeak 1.2; got the same result as I mentioned before. Installed 1.38 and still the same result.

I do have Poser 5 and can install that if it wouldn't interfere with Poser 6

I've uploaded 2 AVI files to show the AT&T Mike and Cepstral David and what happenes with them.

http://del-arunwn.com/ATT_tet.AVI
(Sorry if these aren't shown as links. I can't remember if this board parses the text looking for links so I left the entire message as plain text.)

I did both using the step-by-step guide, but kept the default "Welcome to PoserSpeak" line so there would be a bit more text, but not too much as to make a huge avi file. Both are under a meg each.

THREAD:114 ID:118RE:PoserSpeak/Cepstral test and videos...Yikes, sorry for delay. My cable company shut off my router yesterday afternoon due to ARP requests. Long story. anyways, i see what you are talking about in your AVI movies. I have emailed you for more information about this. Cepstral voices work fine with PoserSpeak, i wonder if the problem is with system memory. See my email for more.

THREAD:114 ID:122Reviving thread...Reviving this thread to see if you've had a chance to look over the .py file i sent to you. I don't have your e-mail addy because I had to reinstall windows yet again and didn't copy the address.

Let me know if there's any thing else you would need to track down why the Cepstral voices are acting funny here.

THREAD:114 ID:124RE:RE:Reviving thread...Another page worthy of reading is in the PoserSpeak FAQ. Advanced Voice Installation. Basically, you can override PoserSpeak's find voice routine and specify which voices you have manually. But when the rest of your voices work except Cepstral, it is most certainly a problem with the Cepstral installation. Perhaps download the voice again from the manufacturer. If that doesn't work, then set the voice name as explained in the FAQ above. Cepstral voices work fine though. Many buyers use them with no problems. I have also tested four of the voices, Amy, Millie, Diane, and Emily.

THREAD:114 ID:133Cepstral Voices blank line...Howdy folks, Eric emailed in with a helpful tip i thought belonged here. Cepstral voices interpret blank lines (two carriage returns) as a pause. If cepstral speech gives you trouble, try removing the blank lines.

Thanks Eric!
